High frame rate cameras are traditionally large, expensive, bulky and very restricted in record times. It makes sense – to produce 1,000 frames / second you need very fast video rates – 10, 20, 40 GBits/second or more and large amounts of memory – over 1 GByte for every second recorded. Then you need a large power supply to drive all this. But this all changes with the fps1000 which incorporates the latest in processing and memory technology to dramatically reduce the cost and form factor of high frame rate cameras.

Small, Light, Portable

The fps1000 is small and light enough to be handheld. It does not need a host computer to operate. You can live preview, record and playback all using the built in 5 inch LCD touch screen. Internal batteries power the camera for typically 1-2 hours. This is the most portable high frame rate camera in its class.

Large Memory, Long Record Time

The fps1000 has an incredible 256GBytes of internal memory as standard. This is enough for two full minutes of full speed image capture. You no longer have to carefully plan each shot and set up triggers to capture the crucial few seconds. This is point and shoot adding a huge range of new opportunities. The memory is also non-volatile so you can save the images in camera for as long as you want even with the power off.

Highest Quality Raw Files

All videos from the fps1000 are saved as raw files in industry standard DNG format. Read them into your favourite post processing application such as Lightroom or Final Cut Pro. Raw files retain all of the original image data in 12 bit colour depth so you retain maximum quality.







Camera manufacturer IMPERX is pleased to add a selection of Sony Pregius CMOS image sensors into its existing CHEETAH CMOS camera family and will be demonstrating one of these new cameras at the VISION Stuttgart show, which runs from November 8-10, 2016.

These new Cheetah CMOS cameras will be ruggedized with an ultra-compact 37mm x 37mm cross-section and wide operational temperature range. Initially, Imperx will offer 3M and 5MP resolutions with a CameraLink output and a HD resolution with a 3G-SDI interface.

Visitors are invited to view a live demonstration of the Cheetah SDI-C2020 HD resolution and 3G-SDI interface camera at the Show. Now applications ranging from broadcast to defense can easily record HD video at 60 fps using the industry standard 3G-SDI interface with unprecedented sensitivity and dynamic range from the SONY Pregius CMOS image sensor.





CHEETAH is the first IMPERX high performance CMOS product line intended not only for machine vision, but also surveillance, reconnaissance, aerospace and intelligent traffic systems. These cameras have very fast frame rates, high resolution, low noise, wide dynamic range, excellent near-infrared sensitivity, and an extremely flexible architecture so one camera can do multiple jobs (for example, a low resolution video camera and a high resolution still camera). Cheetah cameras incorporate ‘smart’ wide dynamic range technology which monitors each pixel’s exposure and sets the exposure to one of three user selectable values based on the intensity of the source at the pixel. CMOS technology eliminates smear columns from areas of ultra-bright intensity and specular reflections in uncontrolled lighting applications.

Cheetah offers the ultimate in user flexibility with global or rolling shutter modes, selectable 8, 10 or 12-bit digitization, multiple decimation or pixel averaging modes, two configurable inputs, two configurable outputs, and Camera Link® Full (CLF) or CoaXPress (CXP) user interfaces. The configuration capabilities are endless utilizing our easy camera configuration tool with programmability for each input and output. Triggering options include rising or falling edge, de-bounce, internal, computer or external trigger. Output options include trigger mirror, pulse generator or strobe. Cheetah offers internal pre-image processing including auto-white balance, hot pixel correction, defective pixel correction and a look up table (dynamic transfer function correction) for gamma and knee-point corrections. Output options include image positive or image negative, horizontal or vertical image mirror or bit shift.

With virtually limitless capability to adapt to your changing requirements, the Cheetah C4080 and C2880 cameras change the game by providing unprecedented control and readout flexibility using our intuitive graphical user interface. The unique Frame A / Frame B feature allows the user to configure two independent camera frame configurations. Select the resolution, exposure, gain, dynamic range and decimation for each frame configuration then mix and match frames programmatically or by external trigger.

Some examples of the capabilities of the Cheetah CMOS camera line:

  • Set one frame to average color pixels 4:1 reducing a 3840 x 2160 area of interest down to 1080P at 30 fps, then capture full resolution frames upon trigger signal providing a low resolution video stream for contextual info and high resolution frames for analytics.
  • Set one frame to high sensitivity rolling shutter mode and one to wide dynamic range global then toggle between the frames and combine them in your software for the ultimate low noise wide dynamic range imagery.
  • Set up one frame as a low resolution video stream over the complete field of view, and define a smaller area of interest at full resolution in the second frame to easily track an object of interest.

La Bobcat B1941 est une caméra CCD hautes performances progressive-scan entièrement programmable, conçue pour les applications qui requièrent une haute qualité d’image, de puissantes fonctionnalités et beaucoup de flexibilité.

La caméra Bobcat B1941 a un faible encombrement de 60 mm x 60 mm x 53 mm pour 337 grammes. La température de fonctionnement s’étend de -40 degrés C à + 85 ° alors que le MTBF dépasse 660000 heures à 40 degrés C.

Le Capteur CCD Truesence Imaging au format optique 2/3 de pouce dispose de pixels 5,5 µm avec une dimension totale de 10,56 mm x 5,94 mm et 12,1 mm de diagonale.

La fréquence image en standard est de 62 images par seconde et de 79 images par seconde en mode overclock à 50 Mhz. La fréquence max est de 542 images par seconde en réduisant la fenêtre d’acquisition.

Le rapport signal sur bruit minimum est de 60 dB, les formats de sortie vont de 8 à 12 bits par pixel en monochrome comme en couleur. L’illumination mini est de 1 lux. L’obturateur est réglable de 1/500 000 à 1/62 sec par pas de 1 µs. Le contrôle de l’exposition est soit manuel, automatique ou encore externe. Le temps d’intégration est programmable jusqu’à 16 secondes. 7 zones d’intérêt sont programmables , le Binning 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 8x est indépendant dans les directions horizontale et verticale.

Les trois capteurs disponibles sont de type Monochrome, Couleur Bayer ou encore Truesence Sparse CFA.

CoaXpress est un nouveau standard pour caméras numériques professionnelles industrielles et scientifiques qui permet de transférer les informations sur un simple câble coaxial à la fréquence de 6.25 GB / sec.



CoaXPress (CXP) is an asymmetric high speed point to point serial communication standard for the transmission of video and still images, scalable over single or multiple coaxial cables. It has a high speed downlink of up to 6.25Gbps per cable for video, images and data, plus a lower speed, 20Mbps uplink for communications and control. Power is also available over the cable (« Power-over-Coax ») and cable lengths of greater than 100m may be achieved.

CoaXPress combines the elegant simplicity of coaxial cable with state of the art high speed serial data technology. The combination of these two highly desirable features – standard coaxial cable and « express » speed – provides a revolutionary leap forward in high speed image and data transmission.

Current digital video interfaces such as Camera Link®, GigE Vision® and FireWire® all have limitations and do not meet the requirements of new generation imaging applications. The primary driving force behind the development of CoaXPress has been the need to overcome the various limitations – primarily cable length, speed and ease of use. CoaXPress combines the best features of each of these existing interfaces into just one interface solution:
High Data rates: up to 6.25Gbps over a single coax cable and up to 25Gbps using four cables.
